Serious problem with Mamut accounting software. Mamut does not always behave like a Windows program.

Considering an accounting program?

Then you have surely heard about Mamut. Choose something else.

After 10 years of using Mamut I have become accustomed to its at times troublesome interface. This is something you learn to live with since you have no choice. Things do not change despite complaints from customers.

Mamut is a Windows program. But it does not behave like a Windows application and you will all the time experience surprises.

Here are some examples:

One will find that when copying text from Mamut, the copied text suddenly contains trailing spaces or tabs not entered by you.

Normally you can double click on a text to select it, but in certain fields this results in opening new pop-up windows.

Some drop-down menus are too short to display all options, even though there is more than enough screen space available. It causes a lot of unnecessary scrolling.

Should you want to generate a report, you must, before generating, choose whether the report is to show as preview, sent to a printer, or to sent by email. You can not change it after you have begun to define the report. Very annoying to set up a report for a specific period and a specific customer and then find out that you don't want the default preview. The only solution then is to cancel and start all over entering report parameters. Very inconvenient.

When searching in the ledger you can not search accross different years without quitting the search and selecting another year. Very inconvenient.

If in order module and registering an order for a customer, it may be neccesary to watch a previous invoice for this customer. After switching to the invoice module you will not be returned to the order you came from. Very inconvenient.

Need an accounting program?

Choose something else than Mamut. There are undoubtedly better options.
