Problem with Mamut accounting software: Mamut is very slow on elementary fuctions, for example on import of orders.

Considering an accounting program?

Then you have surely heard about Mamut. Choose something else.

I use Mamut for accounting, billing and payroll. I import orders once a month from another system through a text file.

Importing orders takes time in Mamut, a lot of time. Once a month I import about 2,000 records, linked to about 200 customers. When I start the import I can safely find something else to do, because the import will take about half an hour.

It's strange that my fast laptop with Windows 8.1 and SSD disk, which runs nice and snappy, spends so much time importing an order file which is not larger than about 150 kb.

In this half hour the processor has had the opportunity to perform 3,600,000,000,000 calculations.

It is obvious that such imports should have been done within a few seconds with such computing power.

The bad performance of Mamut affects the workflow and is irritating.

In addition it is alarming that over 10 years the performance has not improved through new versions of Mamut, new versions of Windows and newer machines.

While all other user applications and PC performance generally develope positively when it comes to responsiveness, this has not happened with Mamut.

Need an accounting program?

Choose something else than Mamut. There are undoubtedly better options.
